Our Bakery

Our main flour supplier is Marriages in Essex and we believe the quality and consistency of their flour is exceptional, enabling us to produce a product of very high quality. For our Viennoiserie we use premium flour and butter from France ensuring an outstanding end product. We also use a wide range of seeds and various wholegrains to add to the flavour, texture and visual impact of our bread.

Sourdough culture is incorporated into all our breads to enhance flavour and keeping qualities, one of our sourdough starters heritage is over 200yrs old! We are World Bread Award winners for our Fig and Fennel Sourdough and our 30% Rye bread with raisin and rosemary.

We bake a delicious range of savoury treats every day: great for eating in the cafe or taking on a picnic to the beach! Choose from our Classic Sausage Roll made with fresh herbs and red onion, gluten free Frittata, vegetarian Empanada, filled Ciabatta rolls, Sourdough Toasties, giant Cheese Straws and Sourdough Pizza to order every Saturday night.

Our cakes and pastries change daily and range from Pain Au Chocolate, Cinnamon Swirls, fruit filled ‘Drunken Apple’cake, gluten free ‘Flourless Orange’caketo our locally inspired Adnams ‘Chocolate Double Broadside’ cake made with local beer and whisky..

We've come up with a couple of tasty new additions to our bread menu as well as bringing back a few old favourites  and we will always have our ‘Magpie White’, ‘Magpie Wholemeal’, ‘Wholemeal Six Seed’, ‘Magpie Sourdough’, 'Southwold Sour', 'Nelson Granary', 100% Rye, Ciabatta, flavoured 'Focaccia' ,'Brioche' rolls  and ‘Baguette’s’ at the weekend. 

Guest breads will appear regularly as and when we feel inspired. All our breads and pastries are subject to availability.
